Everyone says that they want to be an entrepreneur because it is cool. No one wants to slave away working for someone else, you don’t even need a college degree to become an entrepreneur. Now the question comes to mind who is an Entrepreneur? According to Jeet Banerjee, “An entrepreneur is someone who mixes passion, innovation and drive to turn a vision into a working business.” Entrepreneurs make decisions for themselves, realize their creative visions and develop lasting relationship with customers. Not everybody knows what it takes to become a successful entrepreneur. Whether you are just starting out or an existing one these tips I have gathered will help you become more successful.
BE PASSIONATE: When you work on any project with no passion, then your efforts will be fruitless. If you are not passionate about what you do, you’re not going to get the motivation you need to carry on, when challenges come or when you get weary, so choose your passion wisely and not on excitement. Choosing what you love will not only maintain positivity but will also help you deal with failure. Just like the gleam that appears in your eye when you talk about something you love, yeah that’s passion.
BE PERSISTENT: To be persistent is to persevere. Every entrepreneur must be able to persevere even when things get rocky or when everyone tells you to give up. Remember you are the one who controls your actions. Without perseverance it will be difficult to get anywhere in the entrepreneurial world.
TRUST YOURSELF: If you don’t trust yourself, who will? To be a successful entrepreneur you have to learn to listen to your intuition and rely on your wisdom when making decisions. There’s nothing wrong with asking for help when you need it or turning to a mentor for advice, but you also have to learn to trust yourself and your own judgement without input from others.
REDUCE FEAR: Fear stops action. As an entrepreneur if you let fear be your guide, you won’t be able to listen to your intuition, you’ll be afraid to take the necessary risks and your judgement will be clouded by emotions. Remember fear has to do with your perspective. Now here is a little trick to deal with fear, think about the decisions that you have made that benefited you, others or your business. With this you can quickly build your confidence and reduce fear.
VISUALIZE GOALS: I mean, have a clear definition of your goals. When you do this, your goal will definitely be more achievable. You should have a proper goal regarding your start up achievement. Having a clearer visualization of your goal sets you on the right track and helps you do the right thing at the right moment. As a successful entrepreneur should be able to tell others in great details what they’re working on without mincing words.
ACT: Talk only delays action. To become a successful entrepreneur, you must act. It is so easy to get wrapped up in planning, considering potential failures, discussing funding. If all you do is talk, you will get nothing done. At some point you need to halt the talking and make something happen.
TAKE RISKS: Taking risk is part of the job, humans are risk-averse but being an entrepreneur is recognizing the risks you should take. Successful entrepreneurs know which risks to take and which they shouldn’t, learn to recognize the risks that will favour your business and take them. Try to identify which risk is worth taking and you will learn how to be a successful entrepreneur.
To be a successful entrepreneur is not an easy task but with these few tips I hope it becomes a little bit easier. Remember Rome wasn’t built in a day. What makes you a successful entrepreneur?
