Position Overview
Pre-doctoral research associate position in applied microeconomics with focus on preparing for competitive PhD programs.
Supervisor: Egon Tripodi, Assistant Professor of Economics Hours: 25-30 hours/week Duration: 1 year (extendable to 2 years) Start: Flexible around summer 2026
Who Should Apply
- Completed Master's degree in Economics, Statistics, Computer Science or related field
- Strong Bachelor's degree holders also considered (more hours and training offered)
- Motivated to pursue competitive PhD in Economics
- Research experience and mentorship interests
Key Responsibilities
- Literature reviews
- Report writing
- Data management and analysis
- Design and implementation of online/lab/field experiments
- Collaboration with research partners (NGOs, firms, government)
Required Skills
- Experience with Stata, R, or statistical software
- Willingness to learn Python, Javascript
- Basic familiarity with HTML and markup languages
- Strong quantitative background
