Position Overview

Pre-doctoral research associate position in applied microeconomics with focus on preparing for competitive PhD programs.

Supervisor: Egon Tripodi, Assistant Professor of Economics Hours: 25-30 hours/week Duration: 1 year (extendable to 2 years) Start: Flexible around summer 2026

Who Should Apply

  • Completed Master's degree in Economics, Statistics, Computer Science or related field
  • Strong Bachelor's degree holders also considered (more hours and training offered)
  • Motivated to pursue competitive PhD in Economics
  • Research experience and mentorship interests

Key Responsibilities

  • Literature reviews
  • Report writing
  • Data management and analysis
  • Design and implementation of online/lab/field experiments
  • Collaboration with research partners (NGOs, firms, government)

Required Skills

  • Experience with Stata, R, or statistical software
  • Willingness to learn Python, Javascript
  • Basic familiarity with HTML and markup languages
  • Strong quantitative background
